Lee Faver is licensed to practice psychology in Washington state. He also holds licenses in New Hampshire 2006 and New York 1993, both currently are ‘inactive status’ since he relocated to the Pacific Northwest in 2012.
Dr. Faver earned a bachelor of arts in psychology, with honors, at Binghamton University (SUNY) in Binghamton, New York in 1986. His doctorate in counseling psychology (American Psychological Associated accredited) from the University of Buffalo (SUNY) in Buffalo, New York was completed in 1992. He completed a predoctoral internship at the American Psychological Association accredited program, Colorado State University in 1992. Post doctoral supervision was completed under Frank Alabiso, PhD at the Western NY Institute for the Psychotherapies.
Dr. Faver earned a prestigious Board Certification or Diplomate in Clinical Psychology ABPP #5397, 2000 from the American Board of Professional Psychology. He also holds a Certificate of Professional Qualification in Psychology (CPQ#4193) from the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards.

Dr. Faver has been recognized by the American Psychological Association (APA) Office on AIDS for his service as a member of the APA HIV Office for Psychology Education Training Team, which certified him to provide continuing education to health and mental health professionals. He was a member of the APA Behavioral Social Scientist Volunteer Program and American Board of Professional Psychology. Prior to relocating, Dr. Faver was an adjunct faculty at Antioch University of New England where he taught doctoral students, and he has served on the board of trustees for the Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention in Keene, New Hampshire. Currently, he serves on the board of directors for YWCA Clark County where he is Vice President of Public Policy.
Dr. Faver has, until Fall 2016, been a psychologist and behavioral medicine specialist at Orchard’s Family Medicine, in Vancouver, WA. He collaborated with Elise Leland, MD to develop a medical group intervention and workshop series for individuals living with chronic illness, food allergies or chemical sensitivity.
Previously, Dr. Faver was in private practice in Keene, NH and Buffalo, NY. Earlier in his career he was the director of group programs at the Western New York Institute for the Psychotherapies, in Amherst, NY. He was the program director of an acute-care unit at BryLin Hospitals, Buffalo, and a consulting psychologist at the Gow School in South Wales, NY.
Dr. Faver is a nationally recognized expert and trainer, who has taught workshops or seminars on health-related behavior change, relationships, HIV/AIDS, sexuality, sexual orientation, domestic and sexual violence, gender transitioning and various aspects of psychotherapy. His workshops have been attended by psychologists, career counselors, athletic trainers, substance abuse, mental health and medical professionals. His teaching resume includes Antioch University of New England, Keene State College, the Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention, Phoenix House, the Buffalo Veterans Administration Hospital, various community agencies throughout western NY and NH, the Psychological Association of Western NY, the University of North Dakota, Idaho State University, Fredonia State College, Buffalo State College, University at Buffalo, Colorado State University, and Syracuse University. He has been on the faculty of a Sexuality Attitudes Reassessment—an intensive human sexuality training program—and was the training director for Creating Healthy Sexuality—a sexuality training program aimed at educators, human service personnel, health and mental health professionals.
Dr. Faver was a prevention consultant at AIDS Community Services of Western NY (now Evergreen Health Services), the AIDS Alliance of Western New York, Group Ministries of Buffalo, and the Southern Vermont AIDS Project. His expertise in the application of psychological and behavioral health research led to more effective prevention-programs. Dr. Faver assisted program development and adaptation, and provided clinical supervision to both prevention staff and client-service staff. The Client Services Management Team employed Lee as a management advisor. Prior to these activities, Dr. Faver was a leadership consultant to the director of an inpatient unit at Niagara Memorial Hospital and the clinical director of the Beacon Substance Abuse Treatment Center.
